Starbase 3001 is located off of Nimbus Station, and provides access to DeepFreeze, MoonBase, and Portabello. The three new zones act as a bridge between player properties and the official adventure zones. Small and self-contained, each has a small number of quests and unique rewards for the curious. You can battle alien crabs in the altered gravity of MoonBase, skate across the ice and fight beavers in DeepFreeze, or perform tasks for the three dragons in Portabello.

Little Big Planet 2 is still a few months off, but a spinoff may already be in the works, according to Siliconera. The Australian Ratings Classification Board has rated Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves, which is apparently under development by Supermassive Games and Media Molecule. Assuming this is a real game, there’s a decent chance it will be compatible with the PlayStation Move. Supermassive was previously responsible for the Move games Start the Party and Tumble.
Little Big Planet 2 will be out in January, after which we will likely learn more about Sackboy’s latest adventure.

The Two Worlds II release saga continues: now Euro publisher TopWare/Zuxxez is “hopping mad” with Sony because the PS3 version of the game wasn’t made on time. There are signs that EA may be bringing back the SSX franchise. This week, Superannuation uncovered two URLs that were registered by a domain company last week: SSXFirstDescent.com and SSXDeadlyDescent.com. The domains DeadlyDescent.com and DeadlyDescents.com were also registered. All four URLs currently point to blank white pages.
Though no definitive link to EA was established, the use of the snowboarding term “first descent” in conjunction with the trademarked SSX name points to a possible new title from the publisher. However, reps for the Redwood City, California-based company declined to comment on the URLs.

“In Eat Them! the player gets to create their own giant monster which they then use to smash, crash and munch their way though the city. The monster is people-powered, so eating folk is a prerequisite of keeping your monster in full-on destruction mode. The game features eye-catching ‘comic-style’ graphics, fully customizable monster creation and lots and lots of smashing things. The player has the option of single-player and split-screen multiplayer, head-to-head and co-operative missions. Eat Them! promises action, mayhem, destruction, humor and, did i mention?…eating people! The game is scheduled for release this winter.”

Robert Walsh, CEO of Krome, has responded to the “confirmed rumors” that the firm was shut down. “We still have current contracts we are working on, plus some more on the horizon,” he said in a phone interview with IGN. “Realistically, we have at least 40 [people] doing work on projects. We have another project that comes up in a couple of weeks, which could [require] another 40 people. So [our staff] is going to be anywhere between 30 and 100. It’s pretty much just a smaller version of what it was.”
