Battle your way to victory on land, sea and air as Feral Interactive will release Battlestations: Pacific for the Mac on October 8. Developed at Square Enix London Studios, the title takes the action/strategy gameplay of Battlestations: Midway to the next level with two huge campaigns, one based on the actual events of the War in the Pacific and the other a ‘what-if’ scenario based on the premise of a Japanese victory.
Both campaigns comprise 14 separate missions, with players in command and control of over 100 different types of planes, warships and submarines. Battlestations: Pacific boasts a much-improved graphics engine and ups Midway’s online experience with an enhanced multiplayer offering, containing five new co-op and team-based modes.
The game will retail in North America for $39.95.

After a server migration (which took ages) and some changes to the infrastructure, Zero Ballistics is back online! The game is also now FOSS (free and open source software), and the code, including models and blend files can be found here. A pre-compiled version will follow soon.

New details were unearthed in an Official PlayStation Magazine UK interview with Sefton Hill of Rocksteady Studios. According to the game’s director, Arkham City will feature a game world over 5 times the size of Arkham Asylum’s map and will arm Batman with an arsenal of new moves and abilities – twice as many as there were in the first game. The action will start off with most of the gadgets that you had in the previous title already unlocked, and since Batman’s cutting-edge technology is a significant part of the game, gamers can expect to see a range of totally new gadgets. Additionally, evolved features will be found built into those tools they already possess.

Joystiq reports that during his GDC Europe keynote presentation today, Guerrilla Games Managing Director Herman Hulst confirmed that the company has started work on a new IP that’s not related to the Killzone franchise.
Hulst said he hopes the new project would bring back the “level of scope and ambition” they had when they were a start-up company. He added later that the project is in its “very early days in terms of conceptualizing what we’re doing,” and is intended to be a PlayStation 3 exclusive.

The official Under Siege website has launched, and it includes information, new screenshots and videos, and avatars. The title is a real time strategy game exclusive to the PS3, that consists of a single player campaign and both an online and local multiplayer component. The game also includes an in-game editor that enables players to create their own maps and share them with the world.

Elemental: War of Magic has gone gold. The title is set in a world filled with magic and ancient lore. As the ruler of your kingdom, you must expand your empire through a combination of magical power, military might, diplomatic skill, technological advancement and adventuring.
The story begins with you being the only person in your kingdom with the ability to channel magic through mysterious shards of magic that are scattered across the world. These shards, a result of a tremendous cataclysm that occurred a century prior when powerful beings waged war across the world, are the source of much of the world’s magic. With the powers of old now gone, you hold the key to the use of magic in your land. As ruler of your land and a channeler of magic, you must decide how much of your power to imbue into your heroes as you build new cities, explore dungeons, perfect spells of ever-increasing power and negotiate with friends and foes alike. Other channelers in the world, whether they be of the race of Men, The Fallen or the Beasts, are also able to access magic and may not share your vision of the world.

Capcom has announced that Dead Rising fans will be able to pick up the North American exclusive, Dead Rising 2 – Zombrex Edition on day one of launch, September 28, for the both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This special edition will run $79.99, and come enclosed in a two-disc Steelbook case with its own special pack front. Bonus content will include cool collectible items that will differ slightly between versions.

Natural Selection 2 alpha hits Steam July 26 |

The playable alpha for Natural Selection 2 will release through Steam on Monday, July 26. Getting in is easy, as everyone who pre-ordered the Special Edition of the game gets to play. If you haven’t already done so, you’ll need to decide quickly, as once the Alpha starts, the door closes on Special Edition pre-orders, alpha access, and the black marine armor.
According to the developers, this will be a real alpha and there’s still a lot of work to come. They plan to implement a patch schedule of 1 to 4 updates per month throughout the alpha phase. The alpha will feature one full map from the final version of the game along with some smaller ones specifically for testing purposes.

Games Industry Biz reports that Hello Games has won two Develop awards for Best New Studio and Best Micro-Studio. The company, which recently released Joe Danger for the PlayStation Network, was set up by Sean Murray. Murray funded the four-man studio by selling his own house, and revealed that the project broke even in the first week after launch.

Ready At Dawn has been forced to cut 13 of its staff as the studio prepares for a slow period between projects. The company’s official website, described the situation as part of “the woes of being independent” and wished their fallen comrades well as they depart.
Ready At Dawn, based in Santa Ana, CA, is best-known for Okami for the Wii and God of War: Chains of Olympusfor the PlayStation Portable. Their latest project, Ghost of Sparta, is another title set in the God of War universe for the PSP.

Activision has announced that Apache: Air Assault will be coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this fall. The title features more than 16 multi-stage missions in varying locales around the world, including Africa, the Middle East and Central America. The game is set to feature both an arcade and a realistic mode to suit player tastes and online multiplayer, as well as a local co-op where two players take command of one heavily armed combat helicopter.

Gamasutra reports that after a successful two-season run, Microsoft will no longer run 1 vs. 100 on the Xbox 360. The game’s official site displays “A Fond Farewell,” with the show set vacant and gently darkened.
In a statement to media outlets, Microsoft Game Studios GM Dave McCarthy said, “when we started on this journey, we knew we were creating an entirely new genre of entertainment that would be a continually evolving concept. We’re very proud of the 1 vs. 100 team and their accomplishments, and are excited to apply what we’ve learned to future programming.”
