How do these things get started? To honor the ongoing legacy of Steve Jobs, folks are encouraged to wear jeans and a black t-shirt/mock turtle neck for one day on Friday, September 9, 2011. Twitter feeds and Facebook pages are looking for pics of those who celebrate the event, and ours are no different. The Assassin’s Creed Revelations multiplayer beta, initially exclusive to PlayStation Plus members and select PlayStation 3 Uplay members, is opening up to all PlayStation Network members from September 8-11.
The multiplayer beta offers access to nine characters (The Sentinel, The Vanguard, The Guardian, The Vizier, The Thespian, The Deacon, The Bombardier, The Trickster and The Champion), three maps (Knights Hospital, Antioch, Constantinople) and four playable modes (Wanted, Manhunt, Deathmatch, and Artifact Assault), which are only a sample of the final multiplayer content.
Assassin’s Creed Revelations will be available November 15.

Madden NFL 12 scores big in first week |

Electronic Arts announced today that Madden NFL 12 has sold over 1.4 million copies across all consoles in its first week at retail. Those sales are up 10 percent over last year’s opening week, but in the realm of digital revenue, internal estimates show it up an impressive 78 percent over last year.
“Madden NFL 12 is off to a great start, and we’ve seen a tremendous amount of excitement and demand this first week,” said Chris Homeister, senior vice president and general manager of the home entertainment group at Best Buy. “Fans lined up at Best Buy stores around the country for midnight launch events to be the first to bring Madden NFL 12 home and get a jump on their rivals.”

A demo of Hard Reset, Flying Wild Hog’s debut title, is now available. The demo contains a chunk of the first level, offering about 20-30 minutes of play time with a degree of replayability thanks to a wide range of weapon options (12 of 20 weapon modes are included) and the secret areas available for discovery.
The full version of Hard Reset arrives next week.

Driver San Francisco is now available in North America for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii. In it, players play as Detective John Tanner on a relentless manhunt for crime lord Charles Jericho through the hills of the City by the Bay. Thanks to the game’s new Shift feature, players can now seamlessly move between over a hundred licensed vehicles without missing any of the action.

A Game of Thrones – Genesis, a new strategy title developed for PC by Cyanide, will release in both physical and digital stores September 29. Pledged to remain faithful to the world imagined by George R.R. Martin, the game emphasizes the backstabbing and political intrigues which are common in Westeros and the fight for the Iron Throne. Command the assassination of an opponent’s Great Lord, set up secret alliances, send a spy to take the place of the opponent’s unit, or harass his trade routes to weaken his economy. Treachery is everywhere, so always watch your back!

In just a few days time the battle for the Webb Ellis Cup begins in earnest, with New Zealand kicking off against the powerful Tongans in Auckland, but you can virtually get a head start on the action.
The official Rugby World Cup 2011 videogame allows players to recreate these and many other moments from the Tournament: taking their pick of the 20 teams, and guiding them through the pool phase and onto the Final. Players also get the chance to fight for the glory of their chosen nation online, challenging other players to one-on-one matches via Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network.

505 Games and Kung Fu Factory today announced that GameStop customers who pre-order a copy of the mixed martial arts fighter Supremacy MMA will receive both the exclusive playable level The Glass Slipper and the chance to expand their roster and play as Shane Del Rosario. The game aims to bring the brutality of unsanctioned, amateur and unlicensed MMA fighting, as players follow the rise of several fighters and their individual stories as they work toward supremacy.
Supremacy MMA launches in North America September 20 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. And before you ask, GameStop has promised to leave the codes inside the boxes this time.

Atlus has just released this full trailer for Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 – Innocent Sin, which will soon no longer be the one entry in the Persona series not released outside of Japan. The PSP title will experience it’s North American release September 20 in both stores and via the PlayStation Network.
The new trailer presents viewers with Persona 2: Innocent Sin‘s darkly disturbing narrative. When rumors start to become reality, including one that the emblem of the famed Seven Sisters High School is cursed and will disfigure its wearer’s face, paranoia and panic rule the day. This calamity then combines with the protagonists discovering their latent abilities and harnessing their powers to uncover the origins of the curse.

House, M.D. – Blue Meanie, the second of five game episodes following House, M.D. – Globetrotting, has just released as DSiWare for 800 Nintendo Points. In it, Dr. House and the team meet a foul tempered chef who’s entire body has turned a mysterious shade of blue. Blending light adventure gameplay with mini-games and lab tests, players solve puzzles to uncover clues and diagnosis each medical mystery. House, M.D. features all eight stars from the show, including Wilson, Cuddy, and the notorious Dr. House.
