Picture from New Year’s Resolution

I started off my Sunday morning with a shower, and a blog entry. Since I had recently dusted off my Avault blog with my game of the year entry, I figured I should try and keep it well polished. I wrote up the entry, and then left it alone for several hours, as is customary with all of my writing. When I came back and read what I had written, I hated it. Not because I thought it was poor, but because I really just don’t like blogging. The concept seems so egotistical. Who really cares what I think about crazy gaming subjects? I don’t even care what I think about crazy gaming subjects.

I’m not one to be all about myself, or my talents. If anything, I’m more self-defeating than egotistical (see above). But I’m not going to give up on my blog. I’m going to try and keep it free of cobwebs. I haven’t quite figured out how exactly, but I’ll think of something. I might throw a few ideas against the wall, see what sticks, see what doesn’t, and go from there.

For this entry, I want to solicit some user interaction. It’s almost New Years. And right before we switch calendars, we tend to make resolutions for ourselves. Whether it’s losing 15 lbs. to fit in that perfect dress (mine from last year), or finally kissing a girl (…also mine from last year), we try to set some goals so we’re not as hopelessly pathetic as we were the year before.

I have plenty of goals for 2010, as I’m sure all of you do. And I want to hear your goals. But for the sake of this site, let’s keep these resolutions gaming-related. So once you’re done soaking in my resolution for 2010, please share your own!

My goal for 2010 is to finally beat Final Fantasy 9. This game has haunted me this entire decade. I bought it when it was released in 2000, and never got the chance to beat it. Not for a lack of effort, because I put over 45 hours into it. And not for lack of interest either, because I loved the game. I loved it more than Final Fantasy 7, which is really saying something. I just got to the end part, where you have to fight boss after boss after boss, and got stuck. I was eventually bogged down with other things that didn’t matter, and never got around to beating it. Well, in 2010 that’s going to change. I’m going to beat Final Fantasy 9. From the beginning.

Final Fantasy 9, oh my. I liked it a lot. I remember when I got a friend PSX just to play it :)

But, for me FF8 it’s the best, I played 7 and 8 on PC, I got crazy to play the next one.

2010 I want to play some ‘new’ games on my list, like Dead Space;

Haha, borrowing consoles? Those were the days. I remember renting Resident Evil 2 and going over to a friend’s place just to play it. :)

Final Fantasy 8 was a good game, but for some reason I just loved the style of 9 so much more. The little blue mage was just too adorable, like a mogwai.

Saulo, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by Dead Space, it’s a quality title. Scary as hell, too. If you like Resident Evil 4/5 AND Event Horizon at all, it should be right up your alley.
