Either by attrition or by some other sort of physical merge, one by one, the islandies will be replaced with the sideways flashers. I don’t mean the sideways guys will appear on the island, rather, the original castaways will come to the same realization that the sideways people are sort of having, except that the islanders will realize that their future (or ‘new’ life) that is represented by the sidewaysers, will be worth fighting for… except for Jack as he will replace Jacob. The final shot of the series will be the new Jack/Jacob and the Smokey (in whatever form he is in, Locke?), sitting on the beach (maybe playing backgammon), staring out at the ocean…. It begins again. I was toying with the idea that the sideways folks will, somehow, come to the rescue of the original castaways, but… I have no idea what time period the sidewaysers are in. I assume it’s 2004, so then I have no idea (or cannot remember) when in time the original folk are… it could be 2004 or X-amount of years in the future (since Claire is all crazy and Aaron is older)… yes, they are in the future, so I don’t think the sideways folks can rescue the original castaways.
