I'm with kyleh. In fact, I think it's quite telling that my favorite game of 2008 (last year) was the independently produced Braid followed closely by World of Goo. The year before - Portal. And this coming from a guy who owns all three major consoles and has been actively gaming since the late-70's. Since I have a Blog Post of my own coming soon, I don't want to tip my hand yet - but I think the greater majority of creative gameplay is coming from the small sector. Tis a shame, really, what the game industry has done to itself in its pursuit of supplanting Hollywood.

Back to the topic, gaming is really suffering these days. The beauty of the graphics and the boomy of the audio have officially supplanted every other aspect of gameplay in all but a small fraction of games. I'm not saying your list is bad, Mike, Peggle is an ageless example of how good games can be. I just know that 2009 marks the first year in 12 years that Wifey never complained about my video game buying, because it was nothing but a trickle this year. That's not because of a lack of "AAA" titles, either.

I like Fox news too. I don't watch is less than I don't want NBC, CNN and others.

Realistically though... I hate the right-wingers and the leftists alike. Plague on both their houses!!!
