I would like to extend my arms with a great big gaming-and-introductory-blog-post hug. Not a creepy get-out-of-my-face hug, but rather a have-not-seen-you-in-forever, I-thought-you-were-dead hug to everyone. I am very excited to get the opportunity to have this blog and share it with you.
Having been mostly a PC gamer first and console gamer second, I recently broke into today’s “Next Gen” consoles when I bought an Xbox 360. It all started while visiting my brother in Japan. To make a long story short, I tore up my knee while skiing and required surgery. This finally gave me an excuse to get rid of my Wii and get myself an Xbox 360, because I was not going to be doing any break dancing for a while. After that I became a hybrid PC/console gamer who dabbles in portable systems from time to time.
Starting right now I would also like to make an announcement: I am forever quitting World of Warcraft, and have put my reasons down into a nice, easy-to-read list. I just hope World of Warcraft and I can be friends after this.
- It takes up a lot of freaking time (I want to play other games, people).
- I am sick and tired of being sick and tired of the way my Tauren looks running from behind.
- I’m tired of lying to my girlfriend so that I can play instead of doing things with her (hope she does not read this).
- The Old Republic is going to rock my socks off better than World of Warcraft ever will (I hope).
If you ever feel like hitting me up on Xbox Live, my gamer tag is Medykuss. I would like to end my first blog post with a quote from a man who will always give me inspiration:
“There ain’t no getting offa this train we on!” – Barret from Final Fantasy VII

It’s post like this that make me glad that I never got on the whole WoW bandwagon. It seems to be as addictive as Heroin.
It’s odd you should say that, Bryan, because I’ve tried four times to get INTO WoW, only to leave a few weeks later out of a mix of boredom and frustration. I’m not trying to sound elitist in any way, by saying that, either. A fairly large section of my friends play and I wanted so badly to be included, yet every time I re-subscribed I remembered why I didn’t stay in the first place. To me, it was like trying to GET addicted to heroin!
As for Old Republic….let me know what server you’ll be on, Patrick!
That’s more my style, anyways!
What’s wrong with you guys? Did Jack Tompson pay you off ? Where is he by the way, haven’t heard of him in a while.
Anyway, WoW is a great game. I’m not playing it at the moment, but that’s only because I kinda lost interest after 4 years of playing. This is not exclusive to WoW though, I lose interest in all things (and people) in roughly 4-5 years. I guess I was able to last this long because I occasionally got burned out and took a few months off at a time. Maybe I’ll come back yet again, I do miss my Warlock a bit, although I wish they replaced the graphical engine with something newer.
Still, I must say that WoW is a spectacular game. Not only did I have a great amount of fun with my Warlock, Mage and Paladin, but I also met a lot of really awesome people. Some of them in real life. And I’ll have you know … actually I probably should keep this rated PG.
In any event, the only bad thing about WoW, is that it does take time away from other games. I only started playing Mass Effect last week for example.
As for The Old Republic… I am not holding my breath.
How dare you leave! How dare you!
Then again, anymore who would make a moo-cow… on purpose… shouldn’t be playing this game! Good riddance I say! GOOD RIDDANCE!
Andrew, the moment I hear what servers are and what not I will let you know which one I will be playing on!
OmegaBob there is always room for more in The Old Republic
Star Wars is for nUbs & emo-types! Enjoy it!
