I remember the old days when every time you bought a video game at a certain store chain, they always offered to sell you a cleaning kit. Systems and games do not need cleaning kits these days, but what they do need is Borderlands from Gearbox Software. I have been anxiously waiting for this game to be released since I first heard about it. It’s like an RPG and FPS went on a blind date, liked each other, got married and had a child. Each of the four character classes is going to have its own skill tree, and you can play them the way you want to. The game’s story and everything that comes with it is going to be just purely amazing.
Unless…it’s a total failure. With my luck it just might be, as I can see this game totally sucking in some way just to ruin my life. Borderlands could mess up online play so drastically that no one is going to play it. It could also fail on the skill tree and make it so that it doesn’t even factor into the gameplay. Borderlands, if terrible, would tear my gaming soul into a thousand pieces.
I believe that Borderlands can overcome my doubts and fulfill my gaming dreams. I’ve watched countless gameplay trailers and decided to purchase it for my Xbox 360, because more of the people I know own Xbox 360s. A year ago I would’ve gone for the PC version in a heartbeat. It’s the only upcoming game to really pique my interest. I just need some online RPG action to get my fix. I kind of feel like a teenager spilling my heart and soul about my crush on the head cheerleader to a friend, who then, the minute I walk away, runs over to her and tells her. Borderlands and I can have either a great relationship or a it’ll become my next great nightmare.

Despite the picture of himself, Watts is totally right about this one. Has the potential to be a heartbreaker.
I know exactly how you feel, but in my case you need to change “Borderlands” for “Diablo 3″.
“Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.” Not sure who said that. Maybe Marcus Aurelius. Or maybe the Librarian in Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War.
Come back to a real game, like WoW! Come back! We won’t hold this Borderlands emo poopy against you! Come back!
its like fallout3, which is a good thing,
i wonder if its based on wasteland
It appears I have at least one kindred spirit out there. I’ve wanted this game since I saw it on the cover of GI nearly 3 years ago, and am hoping (and praying, even though I’m not religious) that it’s going to be awesome. If not, I plan to buy Sacred 2, even with all of its bugs and inconsistencies, to satiate my inner loot-whore.
I am with you re: Borderlands, cannot wait, CANNOT wait
Z: Neither Wasteland nor Fallout 3 were set in the distant future on a “colony world”. So no, it isn’t “based on” either one, though you could argue that the terrain is similar (mostly desert).
for any one finding this page a year after release like i did i can definitely say that the game is good to say the lest the only flaw i have found is the plot is kinda shaky other than that it is really a good game but i find the fps players to be stubborn on even looking at a game that is even part rpg. for any of you hard core fps players out there reading this i suggest you git a used copy off this game and if you don’t like it take it back o and i have plenty of experience with this game it is NOT a rep-off of fall out the ONLY simultaneity is the desert setting.
