Scavenger
Developer and publisher: Pi Eye Games

Picture from Top Casual PC Games of 2007 In Scavenger, a stylish action arcade shooter, you explore a massive space vessel, collecting gems and destroying alien enemies, with the ultimate goal of locating and capturing the Energy Source. You traverse 80 fascinating levels, with tons of hidden passageways and secret chambers. To succeed, you need expert piloting skills to avoid collisions and being overcome by many types of physical obstacles. There are five different gameplay modes, determining among other things whether you have limited or unlimited fuel or face the presence or absence of gravity, as well as lots of critical power-ups and in-game tips. The graphics are old-school and the sound effects are riveting. You never know what sinister challenge is lurking behind the next corner in this exciting game.

Ricochet Infinity
Developer and publisher: Reflexive Entertainment

Picture from Top Casual PC Games of 2007 Ricochet Infinity takes arcade breakout action to a whole new level. As the fourth release in the Ricochet series, this new offering allows you to play an amazing 216 levels, with thousands more online, situated in 10 environments spanning 14 planets. Using your mouse, your goals are to keep the balls in play, accumulate the highest score possible and unlock exciting extras. Specifically, you can unlock new paddles and balls by collecting rings present in the play field. To help with these objectives, a special “recall” feature allows you to use the right mouse button to pull the balls toward your ship. You may compete and earn ranks in the Galactic Tournament by yourself or with a friend. A delightful Mouse Party mode allows you to connect another mouse to your system to allow two players to play at the same time on the same screen. There is even a level editor available.

Tilelander
Developer and publisher: Ludimate

Picture from Top Casual PC Games of 2007 If you remember Microsoft Jezzball or the many variants of Xonix, then you’ll appreciate Tilelander, where you box off and fill in areas on the playing field. Your goal is to save Tileland from the invasion of the evil Xyzon empire. This action-puzzle game has 70 levels, which you progressively unlock, and four levels of difficulty. You encounter special items such as remote controls that react to your moves, keys that open doors, shields protecting you from enemy attacks and tile-creating generators. If your foes find themselves in a closed-off area, they’re obliterated. In some stages, you need to solve mazes or engage in shoot-em-up action with your enemies. You may control the action using the keyboard, mouse or joystick. The graphics are bright, crisp, colorful and simple, and the sound effects are muted but delightful. You may share and compare your high score online against other players from all over the world.
