Picture from 2K Games announces Duke Nukem Forever

2K Games and Gearbox Software just announced that forever is nearly here, as Duke Nukem Forever will officially make its long-awaited debut for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC in 2011. Duke Nukem, the interactive entertainment industry’s most irreverent and quoted character of all time, will bring his signature brand of babe-lovin’, cigar-smoking, beer-chugging and butt-kicking action as he once again saves the Earth and its babes from hordes of invading aliens. An actual live demo is playable right now for all PAX Prime attendees that are 17 and older.

Screw (in no particular order) Duke Nukem 3D, original Duke Nukem platformers, 3D-Realms, Duke Nukem Forever, Duke Nukem the character, etc.

The game was pretty much finished for pc last year , All gearbox is doing is polishing and porting for the console market, and likely cutting some features. my hopes for the game to be truly Dukeworldish are still high , though i have absolutely no illusions on who designed and made this game. it was 3D realms.

starcraft 2 took 6 years to develop and it ends up being one very, very polished game in terms of presentation, game play and depth.

i doubt the duke can top that, with it’s screwball and much parodied development history.

With a history of complete BS from 3DReals, stolen.. err I mean borrowed work from others and St.John trashing actors, including Bruce Campbell, in a PCGamer interview. I have little to no interest in playing this game.

Bruce Campbell.. Hail to the king baby!
