Microsoft has reportedly banned a Halo fan from Xbox Live until the year 10,000 for playing a test build of the third game in the series. The fan, who goes by Scar, said a friend gave him the Halo 3 Epsilon test build, which he transferred to his account by using a glitch in the system. After about six hours of playing time, Xbox Live started ejecting Scar each time he tried to play the illicit build. About ten other fans have apparently suffered the same fate. Scar says he has no plans to appeal the ban, as others who have tried have failed. Microsoft and Bungie reps haven’t officially commented on the almost 8,000 year ban, but sources tell Bit-Tech it appears to be legitimate. Did Scar get his just desserts, or are the game’s creators being unreasonable? Discuss in the forums.
