PlayStation has announced that a new version of the official PS3 Bluetooth Headset will be available later this month for $49.99.

The headset boasts that it offers “the same unparalleled gaming experience as the previous model,” and offers a dual-microphone design. Additionally, those that employ system software upgrade 3.50 or later will be able to utilize automatic pairing via USB cable with the PS3, an in-game headset status indicator, and a charging cradle which also functions as a desktop microphone. The new headset is 30% smaller than the original and includes built-in noise cancellation.
