Despite the fact that they’ve been busy readying at least two batches of downloadable content for Borderlands, Gearbox has also addressed many of the game’s sources of player frustration. Those damn bugs! I refer not to the creepy crawly arachnid-like creatures and giant roach-like critters that inhabit Pandora, but instead to the more sinister kind that can cause all of your hard work to vanish faster than a Midget Shotgunner drenched in acid.
Perhaps most notable are fixes focused on the loss of skill points and character data. Characters that have lost skill points will have them returned the next time they are loaded, and most instances involving character data loss when playing online should no longer occur. Among the many other fixes provided, items cards now display the intended five lines of text, achievements should now unlock properly (players should automatically receive those that did not unlock correctly), and Lilith’s “Silent Resolve” skill now works as intended.
The update is available now for the Xbox 360, “soon” for the PlayStation 3 and “in progress and in testing” for the PC version.
