Picture from Civilization is coming to Facebook

Just when you thought that you couldn’t possibly waste more time on Facebook, something like this comes along.

Civilization creator, Sid Meier, has announced on Facebook that Firaxis Games is working on a new game called Civilization Network. Meier said he expects the full game to be available in 2010, and is currently seeking beta testers. He states that the game will offer everything you enjoy from the series in a fully persistent environment, and you can play as much as you like, whenever you like. The title will also be free. Reactions among fans of the series range from excited promises to join Facebook, to vocal frustration that Firaxis isn’t developing the next incarnation for consoles.
