Capcom today let us know their new shooter, 1942: Joint Strike, will be releasing soon. The classically inspired vertical arcade shooter arrives on PSN on July 24 and on XBLA on July 23. 1942: Joint Strike takes its cues from the ’80s series of World War II-themed vertical arcade shooters. The gameplay resembles the classic 2D style but utilizes a fully 3D engine. Set in a World War II-themed locale, the stages, vehicles and weapons have the look and feel of WWII with some stylistic differences. 1942: Joint Strike features two-player online cooperative play. Norihiko Hibino, an international composer well-known for his work creating music for the Metal Gear series, created the score for the game.
