2K Games announced today that The Darkness II has been pushed back from October, and will now release in North America for all platforms on February 7, 2012. This will be followed shortly thereafter by a February 10 international launch. Currently in development with Digital Extremes and based on the supernatural horror comic book series created by Top Cow Productions, the game aims to deliver a brutal and personal narrative as players assume control of Jackie Estacado, head of a New York crime family and wielder of an ancient and ruthless force of chaos and destruction known as the Darkness.

The Darkness II is the sequel to 2007′s The Darkness, and adds a new combat mechanic through Quad-Wielding, which will allow players to slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with two Demon Arms while simultaneously firing two weapons.
