According to this Canadian GameStop page, Diablo III has a release date of February 1, 2012. The collector’s edition is being sold for $99.99. The collector’s edition will include the game itself, exclusive in-game content, a behind-the-scenes DVD & Blu-Ray, the soundtrack, an art book, and a 4GB USB drive shaped like a Soulstone.

Predictions:
1) DRM will prevent most paying customers from smooth launch experience while pirates will enjoy LAN and private server games just like in the old days.
2) Game press will go into mega-overdrive hype mode right after X-mas and then become brutally critical the month after D3′s release, as the game-breaking bugs and lack of basic features common to every two-bit MMO come to light.
3) Every fifth quest will pop up a “purchase this DLC now!” box.
4) Blizzard will fight modding attempts with everything they have, and mods will still become the only thing that makes the game tolerable.
I think that about covers it.
Oh, I left one out:
5) Collector’s edition will be half price within 45 days of launch, even less if you get it with trade-ins.
Lol…
The DRM has screwed those in areas with limited Internet, like me. I won’t buy the game and if asked I will not ever recommend the game as long as this form of DRM is used.
I tried Diablo and Diablo II a few years ago and didn’t like them (I went back to playing Dungeon Siege). I won’t be buying Diablo III either though curiosity has been piqued. Right now I’m waiting for Mass Effect 3; every other game is secondary.
