Picture from It’s never too early to sell movie rights

Dark Void currently has a release date of January 12, so it’s nearly a month and a half before the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC communities will be able to sink their teeth into it, but Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment Group thinks Capcom has a hit on their hands and already wants to make it into a blockbuster movie.

The game’s story will center on cargo pilot, William Augustus Grey, who crashes in the Bermuda Triangle. From there, he is teleported to a parallel universe where he encounters other humans, called Survivors. Together, Will and the survivors must battle an alien race known as the Watchers to return to Earth. The Watchers came from afar, making humans do their bidding, whilst being treated as gods. With the help of Nikola Tesla, they retrofit Watcher technology to fight the Watchers.

It does sound like if properly executed, the movie version could be pretty excellent, however, as we know, games rarely translate to the big screen all that well. At this point, Pitt is only going to be producing, but he could also potentially star in the feature if it gets off the ground.
