Yes, the maps for Wake Island, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Coral Sea are back and better! DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio, announced that Battlefield 1943 will be exclusively available tomorrow at the Xbox LIVE Marketplace and July 9th on the PlayStation Network. Battlefield 1943 is the remodeled download-only World War 2 action game that brings DICE’s first-class vehicular warfare to gamers for just $15 or 1200 MS Points. For those of you who like to secret yourself away in hidey-holes and pick off the enemy you’ll have to think again. These maps have been redesigned and reengineered using the DICE destructible Frostbite engine which takes down walls, blockades and cover spots, leaving players exposed and with almost nowhere to hide. My advice: leave your bucket and spade at home – take the grenades and machine gun instead. No harm in applying sun block either – inflatable crocodile optional.
