Picture from PC Game Night: Crysis II Demo

Hey PC gamers!

We’re having a PC game night for Crysis 2 (the demo for the moment). We’ve got a whole dedicated server waiting for us, and I’m thinking that Tuesday nights would make a great time to get together virtually and frag some nano-suits.

Tomorrow, March 8 at 8:00 pm CST!

I promise not to use any special perks against you for the first 2 minutes!

Art of War Central has kindly provided the servers to make this and future game nights possible. They were one of the first professional game server companies and remain one of the best. They take pride in having the finest network and hardware, top notch professional tech support via toll free phone and competitive pricing. You’re never on your own with Art of War Central, and they offer over 100 different games! Let us know what else you’d like to play.

Dude! I thought we agreed to make it on Wednesday or Thursday! =(

I can’t come to this one because I have a class on Tuesday nights.

I think a download link or two would be good in the news item.

Ok, guys, here’s the server information.

207.210.252.19:64000

That’s the good news.

Now there’s the bad news.

Like many other users of the demo, I have been unable to get online with the game due to server-side issues. I cannot create or use an existing log in for the demo. I’m not the only one with this problem.

So, either I will be with you all tonight, gleefully blasting away with my weapons and nanosuit, or I will be writing up a news article on the problem. I’ll post a little later with my log in information IF I can get it to work.

Too bad I only play FPS on my 360 :-(

Bones | March 8th, 2011 at 4:01 PM Permalink to this Comment

Jason try creating an account in game if possible. That was the only way I could as well. I had to since I lost the info for my old one.

I’ll be on for sure with you guys, hope It’s a good turnout.

Update:

Those who have the game through Steam are going to have to wait until they update the demo to 1.2. You will also need to try a variety of log in strategies to get in. Something got screwed up when they did the roll out.

More news as I work on the issue.

Jason Pitruzzello | March 8th, 2011 at 5:22 PM Permalink to this Comment

Update #2: It looks like the client has been updated through Steam. There are some log-in work arounds, including using a bogus email address with the “Create account” function in game.

Gamespy IDs are not working properly, and neither is the myCrysis log in.

I am poking around online and working on connecting to our server.

You can see me under the alias SecretMaster.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Poke, poke around the dying of the light!

Good news about the updated Steam client. I created a new account in-game a few nights ago and had no issues. Hopefully everything goes smoothly.

Alaric | March 8th, 2011 at 6:00 PM Permalink to this Comment

You guys suck and I hate you. Especially Jason.

Matthew Booth | March 8th, 2011 at 6:01 PM Permalink to this Comment

Don’t worry Alaric, I’ll do a L4D2 night that fits your schedule.

Bones | March 8th, 2011 at 8:15 PM Permalink to this Comment

Not getting a connection to the server =\

Matthew Booth | March 8th, 2011 at 8:48 PM Permalink to this Comment

Same =(

Angel Munoz | March 9th, 2011 at 5:04 AM Permalink to this Comment

If anyone wants to play L4D2 on Steam (PC) let me know. My PurePC can host matches or we can get a dedicated server from AoW Central. My Steam handle is iniquitous.

Some of the newer community developed campaigns are quite good.

Matthew Booth | March 9th, 2011 at 5:30 AM Permalink to this Comment

I Do!

I just played around 4 hours of it tonight!

Angel Munoz | March 9th, 2011 at 6:36 AM Permalink to this Comment

Matthew – Download and install

Tour of Terror – http://bit.ly/eHlGWN
Vienna Calling 1 for L4D2 – http://bit.ly/ehCn1V
Dead Before Dawn DC – http://bit.ly/hP40nz

I used to be the only “iniquitous” on Steam but now there seems to be at least eight posers out there :/ So here’s my steam page: http://steamcommunity.com/id/munoz

Matthew Booth | March 9th, 2011 at 11:03 AM Permalink to this Comment

Sounds fun. I’ll download this evening. I think I sent a friend request to a poser, so I’ll send a request to the real iniquitous.

Matthew Booth | March 10th, 2011 at 2:02 PM Permalink to this Comment

@Angel – addons added and friend request sent.

Angel Munoz | March 10th, 2011 at 7:10 PM Permalink to this Comment

Accepted. Ping me when you see me online and we’ll play together.

Michele White | March 10th, 2011 at 7:56 PM Permalink to this Comment

L4D is Avault’s version of the back nine. ;)

Alaric | March 16th, 2011 at 2:51 PM Permalink to this Comment

I logged into the Avault server last night, and it was full of people I don’t know.

Michele White | March 16th, 2011 at 2:56 PM Permalink to this Comment

Well did you introduce yourself?

Alaric | March 16th, 2011 at 3:51 PM Permalink to this Comment

Are you kidding? There people were evil and deranged! THEY WERE SHOOTING AT ME!!!

Michele White | March 17th, 2011 at 10:09 AM Permalink to this Comment

Well, shoot back!

Alaric | March 17th, 2011 at 10:17 AM Permalink to this Comment

I did. I killed a bunch of these invaders, but… I think this is going to sound crazy, but somehow they were coming back from the dead. This really freaked me out and I logged off.

Jason Pitruzzello | March 17th, 2011 at 8:17 PM Permalink to this Comment

Let me just say that my reflexes might not be good enough for this game. I spend a lot of time watching the kill cam…. :)
