Picture from Game Republic in titanic development

No not the big ship, but a game based on the Clash of the Titans film remake. Game Republic (the company behind Sony’s Genji series of samurai action games) boasted that it was going “to do something revolutionary with something that has been never been seen before.” Pardon my ignorance, but wasn’t God of War loosely based on Clash of the Titans?

CEO, Yoshiko Okamoto, offered that the developer was working closely with the creative talent behind the film. The game is rumored to be released in the spring of 2010 for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. Gameplay will allow players to arm themselves with an ever-changing arsenal of weapons and powers as they journey through the mythical world solo or teamed up with friends to complete quests. Both Medusa and the Kraken are among the monsters waiting to be encountered.
