Picture from Gears of War film to break from storyline?

There haven’t been too many details revealed about the live-action film adaptation of the Gears of War video game franchise. To date we’ve learned that Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free Die Hard) will direct, and that Billy Ray (State of Play) will co-write it with him. In a recent interview, however, producer Wyck Godfrey finally let out some of the story details. According to Godfrey, the film will tell the story of the locust origins and explore the experience of surviving Emergence Day. It may not be what many hard-core fans of the series were expecting, but then again, it could form the base for a series of films. What do you think? Would you rather see a retelling of the game’s plot, or would you like to see alternate storylines explored?

That would imply that Gears of War had a plot.

HAHA! That’s funny Jason. I was thinking the same thing. When I heard Gears was getting a movie I was a little surprised because though they try to put a plot in it really has no depth or epic feel to it. We need a Halo movie before we get a gears movie.
