Picture from Gloom and no Doom on XBLA

Those of you hoping to log in for some retro gaming time might be disappointed to find that Duke Nukem has been escorted from the building. And he’s not alone, as the classic sci-fi horror FPS, Doom, has also been pulled from the Xbox Live Arcade, and seemingly, without any prior warning. Zenimax in a later statement, however, confirmed that Doom was withdrawn due to the expiration of rights. They also confirmed that Duke “should be back up soon.”

Neither Doom, Duke, nor Wolf are available here in the Philippines (nor, assumingly, many other parts of Southeast Asia). Oh yeah, Dead Rising Zero too. Those are just the games I wanted to buy and couldn’t. Money that I wanted to spend on a product was not spent, nostalgia was lost. No excuses for this.

On topic: a lot of games randomly get pulled from XBLA. I have a bunch of games that aren’t available anymore (last time I checked) from 2005-2006: root beer tapper, ultimate mk3, paperboy, etc.
