Picture from Halo 3 map pack available for download

Halo 3 players worldwide can now enjoy three all-new multiplayer maps. The Heroic Map Pack is the first in a series of downloadable content from Bungie Studios. Available for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, each map offers a unique experience. The symmetrical valley of Standoff, with its entrenched bases and fields of boulders, is ideal for mid-sized objective and Slayer game types, while the vast passages of Rat’s Nest bring something new to the Halo multiplayer experience: an indoor vehicle paradise ideal for big team battles. Finally, players can edit every single object in Foundry, placing stairways, walls, bridges and tunnels to create a new play space. The maps included with the Heroic Pack are available in matchmaking today to those who have purchased the download. All three maps will become available as a free download via Xbox LIVE Marketplace in the spring, just prior to the next wave of all-new Halo 3 multiplayer maps.

Great Maps, I wonder how many people have purchased them. Would be a bummer to purchase them and not be able to play anyone else online.

According to Xbox.com the new maps will become available this Spring 08, to make way for the new maps they are selling.

The new maps are pretty cool. You can now download them for free! I like the one pictured above, with Snipers. Are there 3 more than can be downloaded for points?

I heard they will be coming out with 3 more. They are not yet available.

I hope they come out with 3 more to purchase. Of the three that just became downloadable, they never really are available to play during multiplayer. I still play the same maps but occationally the newer ones will appear…I think there might be a setting to only play the new maps.

I heard the new maps were available but I can’t download them. I purchased points, just can’t find the download screen. Anyway to purchase them online and put it on a CD?

Ray | August 30th, 2009 at 1:26 PM Permalink to this Comment

Why don’t they make the first map pack free to download if it is free. It stinks that you have to pay so much for Xbox live just to get a few free maps for a fun game like Halo 3.
