Picture from Harmonix to release the Beatles

We reported on this a few months ago, but the details have finally been ironed out and a release date set.

Video game makers Harmonix and MTV Games, along with music publisher Apple Corps., will launch the Beatles version of the popular Rock Band franchise on Sept. 9. The release marks the first time the group’s music will be used in an interactive video game format, which will follow the band’s storied career. In addition, the company will release limited editions of game controllers fashioned after the instruments used by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
