Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 sold 11.86 million units worldwide in 2009. Of this, 8.82 million was accounted for in the US, 2.8 million in the UK and 237,500 in Japan. The rest of the year’s Top 5 selling games were all exclusive to the Wii: Wii Sports Resort, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wii Fit Plus and Wii Fit.

Surprised? Though you might not be at first, take into consideration how many weeks it was actually on sale in 2009!
