Picture from Modern Warfare 2 secrets uncovered

A number of secret Modern Warfare 2 gameplay modes, hidden in the source code, have been uncovered. These modes, labeled Arena, Global Thermal Nuclear War, One Flag and VIP are unfinished and three of them contain the phrase “fix after ship”. Are we looking at next month’s DLC?

Arena and One Flag appear to simply be versions of the now requisite Capture the Flag, but the other two could prove to be much more interesting. In Global Thermal Nuclear War, the “nuke” is in the middle of the map, and both teams have to try and get it and set it off. It’s a respawn game where you must first “capture” the nuke, and then activate it. The catch, however, is that it can only be activated if your team score is above 100. As you can surmise, one point is awarded for every kill, but you also get one point for capturing the nuke, and a point for every few seconds that your team is able to maintain control of it. The team who activates the nuke wins. VIP is an assassination game. Each team has a randomly selected VIP that spawns with a shield and armor vest. Once spawned, the VIP must make their way to the randomly selected extraction zone and call for pickup. Once called, rescue takes 45 seconds to arrive. The other team wins if they manage to kill the VIP before this happens.

If this stuff was done prior to release, they better not charge for it….

They need to unlock Global Thermal Nuclear War. For some reason that premise sounds awesome. I’m sure we’ll be paying for it too.

Global Thermonuclear War is a reference to the old movie “War Games”

Global Thermal Nuclear War sounds really fun. VIP also does. idk if we will ever play them though.
