Picture from Mom calls cops about son’s gaming habits

It’s game over for a 14-year-old Massachusetts boy, whose mother was so exasperated with his video game playing that she called the cops on him.

This occurred at 2:30 am on Saturday when according to the mother, Angela Mejia, “I woke up in the middle of the night and saw the light on in his bedroom,” hours after she had told him to go to sleep. Mejia found her son playing “Grand Theft Auto,” an argument ensued as Mejia unplugged her son’s PlayStation and dialed 911. Police responded and managed to talk the boy into shutting off the game and going to sleep. (Why did they need to, if she’d already unplugged it?)

As to why Mejia called police instead of dishing out her own punishment, she had this to say. “I called (police) because if you don’t respect your mother, what are you going to do in your life?”

What would you do?

Well… if she has to call the police, then he already doesn’t respect her by definition. And rightfully so I might add. It bothers me that my taxes could go towards having some imbecile call the police to have them sing lullabies to her failed parenting efforts.
