Sony’s much rumored motion sensing controller for the Playstation 3 is real and it will likely be unveiled at E3. Sony’s controller apparently uses LEDs and a small webcam to track the device’s movements, and because the camera can read different color lights and the shape and angle of each light, it’s supposed to be much more accurate than the Wii-mote. It can track precise movements, including along the Z axis (something the Wii is really bad at) as well as velocity. Sony is also apparently reaching out to select developers and publishers to get some early software coming.

YES! TAKE THAT NINTENDO! =D
Lame.
Thought Sony said motion sensing was a ‘gimmick’
Yeah, gimmick all the way to the bank…
Now all you have to do make the PS3 a viable platform for grandpa and grandma and you’ve got yourself a success, Sony!
