The sequel to Beenox and Griptonite’s Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions has an official release date. Activision has announced that it will be called Spider-Man: Edge of Time, and will be ready for a fall release this year. The premise of the game lets players take on the roles of both classic Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 to correct a time stream gone awry and prevent a catastrophic future brought on by the early and untimely death of Peter Parker. Beenox’s head, Dee Brown, also said that their team is “looking for new and creative ways to innovate the gameplay experience for [players].” Meanwhile, expect this game to add a more distinct flavor than its predecessor. This should come out as something exciting. So we have a few months to trim off some extra pounds so we can squeeze into our spider suits.

Settlement in George Hotz story |

Sony Computer Entertainment America and George Hotz have settled the lawsuit filed by SCEA against Hotz in federal court. As part of this settlement, Hotz has consented to a permanent injunction that requires him to take down his postings. In the action, SCEA accused Hotz of violating federal law by posting online information about the PlayStation 3 that SCEA claimed could be used to circumvent the security system in the console and allow the playing of pirated games.
“Sony is glad to put this litigation behind us,” said Riley Russell, General Counsel for SCEA. “Our motivation for bringing this litigation was to protect our intellectual property and our consumers. We believe this settlement and the permanent injunction achieve this goal.”
“It was never my intention to cause any users trouble or to make piracy easier,” said Hotz, “I’m happy to have the litigation behind me.”
Hotz was NOT involved in the recent attacks on Sony’s internet services and websites.

You once again buy a Commodore 64 (of sorts), but this time there will be a big boy PC inside. Rock, Paper, Shotgun reports that a company has secured the rights to the names of the old machines, and calls themselves Commodore USA, LLC.
The new Commodore 64 features a slot or tray load DVD RW(with optional Blu-Ray), and 2 GB of DDR3 memory that is expandable to 4 GB. The versions currently available for pre-order don’t yet have the C64 emulator installed, but Commodore claims that it’s coming soon. The C64 model will cost you $595, which is the exact price the machine cost when it was originally released in 1982. Expect to see them shipping in May.
