Picture from PlayStation creator working on a cool project

Ken Kutaragi, the creator of the console that changed gaming forever, says he is working on something cool, and something new. Kutaragi, now senior technology advisor as of this year, refused to give details on what the project was, but hinted that some of Sony’s older members know a thing or two.

Personally, I am very interested. A “cool” new project from the man that brought the entertainment-defining machine is something to really be interested in. Maybe he has invented the first truly virtual reality game?

I got it: a PSX that uses standard removable storage. Thanks, I’ll be here all week. No, but seriously..as long as Sony is involved the mystery project is unlikely to be either cool or particularly “new”. My fantasy? An Xperia PS3 Android laptop with support for all Playstation games ever. My guess? A portable console with motion control, or something equally irrelevant.

sony is too convoluted to come up with anything “cool” these days. every sony product try to be too many thing to too may people. and end up being inferior in everything sony want said products to achieve.

Lovely balanced views above. That’s why I come here ya know…

Lets not pretend Sony are dead in the water and be grown ups. Agreed?

Let’s see, they had to bribe Hollywood with money they hadn’t even made yet to kill HD-DVD. They release form-over-function products that, with a handful of exceptions, decline in quality every year. They continue to blindly push proprietary formats that the consumer ignores. They have data security on par with Facebook and their losing money on pretty much everything they make, nearly all of which is overpriced. You’re right, I’m sure your Sony stock will rebound any day now. /s
