SouthPeak Games announced yesterday that its critically acclaimed puzzle game Roogoo will release on the Wii and the Nintendo DS later this year. Roogoo, which was previously released on XBLA, features DS & Wii cross-compatibility, all-new levels and game modes that take advantage of the unique features of the motion-sensitive Wii Remote and Nintendo DS touch screen and stylus.

Players help the Roogoo by guiding colorful meteors through rotating platforms in an effort to stop the evil Meemoos from draining their planet’s energy. Utilizing the motion-sensitive Wii controls, players rotate platforms, capture pieces and stop the evil Meemoos, in entirely new ways. Interactive backgrounds and new gameplay twists build upon the action found in the original. Up to four players can play in new modes that feature adversarial, cooperative and party play.
