An intrepid Skyrim explorer has travelled beyond the invisible walls of the game and discovered that Bethesda has included Morrowind and Cyrodiil in the game’s already vast landmass. The lone adventurer, who posted his findings on Tumblr, journeyed to Stendarr’s Beacon, located at the south-eastern edge of Skyrim, along a path that comes to an end at a stone archway and an invisible wall. The land beyond that point is Morrowind. It seems that Bethesda has actually gone to the trouble of recreating these other lands, albeit in a scaled-down, low-res form. One would expect that future expansion packs may well open up these closed off areas!

Most intriguing..most intriguing indeed. The idea that they might repackage the resources of the previous games (or parts of them) and “port” them to Skyrim as addons is pretty exciting. It would also save the modding community the trouble of doing the whole thing themselves
Better yet, have each DLC be a preview for upcoming chapters of TES that revisit the old lands, starting with Daggerfall II. That would be huge.
I wonder if it was to complete the vistas in the game. Makes sense to me. Better than the world dropping out of existence at a border. Bethesda is a truly dedicated team and they may have just done it ‘because’. If the rest of the world were to be modded in or with DLC using the existing terrain it would be a massive undertaking for sure. It seems like the amount of detail they put into the game world warrants a totally new game for each province. But opening up Morrowind and Cyrodiil by updating existing content for each game would be amazing. Not quite DLC but a full blown addon really.
