Picture from Small soldiers march on

No, not those awful films, but the continuing progression of the Total War strategy series. Sega and The Creative Assembly (Empire: Total War) announced at Game Com in Cologne, Germany, this week, that they would be building upon their last strategic offering by bringing out Napoleon: Total War. The game is expected to arrive for the PC in February 2010 and will not be an expansion, but a full stand alone version. I can hear your wallets groan.

Napoleon: Total War follows legendary French general and (later) Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, from his rise and fall from power through the battles he waged. All of Napoleon’s campaigns are featured from Egypt, through Russia and his ultimate defeat at the hands of the Duke of Wellington at the Battle of Waterloo.

The game will also include a number of features that defined the well-received Empire: Total War, including land and sea engagements, a detailed campaign map, and expanded diplomacy mechanics. Game tip – bring a ladder – you’ll need it to get Napoleon on his horse.
