It’s a fair statement that the PS3 lost out during the early days to both the Wii and 360 because of its higher price, but Push Square has put forth that the console’s poor showing had more to do with the difficulty that developers had with the product. Worldwide Studios manager, Shuhei Yoshida, claims that much of PlayStation’s recent success is due to their better relationship with developers, which should relate to the future success of the NGP.
I’m not a fan of this new handheld craze, but I do agree that Sony needs to go back to their roots and remember what put them at the forefront of mature gaming. With the 3DS and the NGP, the video game industry is going to become both more competitive and very exciting. What do you think, 3DS or NGP?
