This week’s guest co-host Justin Radeka and Stevie talk about hardware, mobile games, and every high tech-er’s best friend: Vodka (OK, maybe that’s just Justin).

This guest for Episode #4 of Stevie FTW is Doug Dyer, President at AFK Interactive. Doug dropped in to reminisce on the good old days — and his are storied. After a stint at Microsoft when gaming was but a glint in Bill G’s eye, Doug gives us the scoop on Jace Hall’s early days,  the founding of THQ Wireless, his industry family connection, and time at Warner Bros. where he was Stevie’s boss. He claims to have all the  good dirt on our host, so tune in to get the goods at www.stevieftw.com!

Dan Taylor Stevie’s Viennese tour guide from back in the day and former co-worker, co-hosts Episode #3 of Stevie FTW. Dan spends most of his time “mind mapping”, but took a break from it to talk about the latest must have gadget – the iPad, and the success (at least for now) of Zynga, and the wonderful world of micro transactions.

Speaking of micro transactions, this week’s guest is Dave Rohrl, an executive producer at Playdom. Dave shared some of the details of his career (Reader Rabbit) through the dot com bubble bust, and then over to EA with Pogo. He also took some time to explain and explore the growing phenomenon of social gaming, and how it differs from what has come before. Stevie FTW aims to improve the quality of your “tech life”, so tune in at www.stevieftw.com and find out what everyone else is talking about!

Freelance web designer (and Karaoke aficionado), Jeff Croft, co-hosts Episode #2 of Stevie FTW. Jeff and Stevie actually went to the same high school, but she wanted him to join her for this week’s show to talk a little about his adventures at this years’ SXSW Festival, and many of the new mobile apps that all the cool kids are using these days.

For those unfamiliar, SXSW (South by Southwest) is a combination film, music and interactive media festival held in Austin, TX. The event is a launching pad for new creative content, and its media presentations, music showcases and film screenings provide buzz-generating exposure for creators and compelling entertainment for audiences.

Jonathan Carroll, Killer Robot of Alamofire, is this week’s guest, and he came in to share the details about their new app, Gowalla. Gowalla is a location based service that lets you know what’s going on in the outside world, so that you might actually find a reason to get up off of the couch and go out and explore. Once again, Stevie FTW is filled with knowledge to help improve the quality of your “tech life”, so make sure to tune in at www.stevieftw.com!

Stevie kicked off the inaugural episode of her show with none other than Cliff (“Cliffy B”) Bleszinski from Epic Games. Cliff, a “ridiculously hard core gamer”, dropped in to catch up with Stevie and share some of his passions, and how it’s sometimes necessary to just disconnect from the Intertubes. Will we be seeing “Unrealville” coming to Facebook anytime soon? Probably not, but Cliff admits that they do have a place in the wide world of games, and that 70 million people can’t be completely wrong.

Stevie also shared much of her history, and some of what she intends to cover in future episodes. Her guests will include not just gamers, but anyone who is anyone in the world of high tech. Everyone is going to be talking about Stevie FTW in the coming days, so make sure to tune in at www.stevieftw.com.

Picture from Stevie FTW podcast (new date)

The first episode of Stevie FTW will now launch on March 31st. The show will air as a Wednesday podcast, and stars as lead host the one and only Stevana “Stevie” Case.

Stevie FTW will focus on the intersection of high tech, web culture, digital media, and the lifestyle that surrounds them. Stevie will be digging into food and wine while exploring the science and technology that help bring them to fruition, and actually allow you to get to know the personalities in gaming and high tech, instead of just their products. Stevie will take the audience out of the studio and along on her adventures skiing, sailing, wine tasting and journeying to Burning Man. This is a show about passion and emotion. It’s about what drives us to work, but more importantly, it’s about what drives us to live. According to Stevie, her new show will be “a chance for me to geek out and bring the audience along for the ride.”
