Paradox Interactive just announced plans for the release of Supreme Ruler 2020: Cold War during the second quarter of 2011.

In Supreme Ruler 2020: Cold War, players will enter a portrayal of the world in the year 2020 based on recent real-world headlines. During these turbulent times, they must battle economic challenges, unstable governments and worldwide tensions in this grand strategy experience. Play as the United States or Soviet Union in Campaign Mode, and then enjoy the ability to control any post WWII nation in Sandbox Mode. The title will also include a multiplayer mode that supports up to 16 players via LAN or Internet.

Update: The nice folks at Battlegoat just issued a correction to the original Paradox statement from Gamescom. The official title of the game is going to be Supreme Ruler: Cold War.
