Nintendo has announced that Wii owners have purchased more than 4.7 million games from the Wii Virtual Console Channel at a rate of more than 1,000 games every hour since launch. The most popular game on the service has been Super Mario Bros. on the NES. Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario World for the SNES and The Legend of Zelda for the NES followed in order. In addition, the US Virtual Console will reach the 100 game milestone on June 4 with the release of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
