There are rumours, as always, about an Xbox 720 being in development and possibly being unveiled soon. This has led many to believe that the 360 is entering its latter stages. Think again, because an Xbox exec says the 360 is only halfway through its life cycle.
A big reason for the 360 still having some strong legs is the very successful launch of the Kinect. Xbox EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) VP Chris Lewis says “massive swathes of families and younger audiences are flocking to the 360.” It will be interesting to see just exactly where Microsoft takes the Kinect and how far it can extend the 360, but it’s uncertain whether it can outlast the outstanding endurance of the PSOne and PS2.

LIES .. yeh kinect.. more resources used by an already overly taxed console.. They will sell tons im sure , but the fact of the matter is Gaming software is MILES ahead of console hardware . Has been since the DAY the last Gen of Consoles shipped..
I truly cannot wait for better console platforms as the next gen , for me at least will mean my main beefs with most triple A titles on release will be about interface for the most part. {at least i hope so }
DX 9 has already achieved a graphics medium that wows all types from all genres depending on the game. Better Ai More content, Larger Scale !!, yes DX 10 or 11 would be nice but to me is more fluff than anything else when it comes to truly immersive and polished games.
Yes .. Give developers Better hardware to design and program for , Stop the endless milking of reboot titles all the while stripping features to meet quotas on SEVERELY outdated hardware..
Yes, i still have an old 19 inch cathode ray monitor as well,, years older than 360 and arguably years more life left in it . DO i use it ? do i even remotely care about it ?? /. nope..
