There are plenty of weapons in the game that you pick up along the way. You will find things like axes, shovels, chainsaws, nailguns, pistols, machine guns, bats, and crow bars to name a few. Each one will kill the enemy in a different way. When you first use some of the weapons you get a little excited about how they are going to take the enemy down. The axe is a great one for severing heads, while the chainsaw is the best way to shred someone up. Every weapon is also accompanied by its own sounds to add to the overall effect.
There is also multiplayer support in Flesh Feast. There is a coop mode that will let two players play against all the zombies, and a 2-8 player deathmatch that gives players points for each kill they have. You can either play over a network or on HEAT.net, SegaSoft’s multiplayer network. Presently, even the latest patch only had preliminary support put in for playing on HEAT.net, so players looking to play multiplayer using that method will have to hang tight.
Flesh Feast is a different type of game. At first glance it has such a gory feel to it that you almost feel morbid for playing it. There are a lot of great ideas in the game that have not been executed to perfection. By giving players the challenge of having to manage multiple characters and mixing arcade action with strategy, the developers could have had a good mixture to work with. Since the graphics leave a little to be desired and the game ends up being a pure slugfest, there is a little disappointment with the final product.
