I totally agree with you Psycros and quit also for the same -shortly sumed-up, I agree- reasons. But writing long & flaming posts which have already been bitterly discusted on forums won't lead anyone anywhere, so I'll just add my little touch to your 'knightly charge' ^^: You're wrong saying WoW has become garbage... It's still a very impressive MMO ( If it wasn't, it wouldn't attract so much people...) and Cataclysm IS an excellent high-quality expansion... Alas, the public both -game & expansions- aimed at has slowly changed -"two years"; yes, approximatively- and now, clearly, after having seduced -some would say "fucked"- gamers & PGMs during the first years of development because they were usefull & non-costly avatars to sell their product, Blizzard /Vivendi is now moving to a new target, more numerous, profitable & less demanding, that is "Mr Everybody"... Kevin, fanboys & their kids all included for it is now definatly a "12+" game in its every aspect, as advertised on the box.
I fully respect people who play it and find it 'fantastic', 'fun' or whatever... Simply put, the marketing target I represent is not concerned anymore and I too know X persons around who stopped playing for the same reasons, a move which Blizzard has been anticipating for a long time, from a commercial point of vue. Psycros calls the result 'Brainless', I call it 'Childish' -a more 'positive' way to see things, I guess- but nevertheless, it's a cash-winner bet by the game's creators. No need to spit or whine about that; it would just be a waste of time.

I spit on Cataclysm. WoW was already dying, having been turned steadily into a brainless twitch game for two years. This was the final shovelful of dirt on its grave. Everyone I know who plays - about a dozen total - quit within a week of the patch coming out. Garbage.
