Graphics: The graphics in Warhawk look good, but they aren’t anything special. The level of detail is great, though. The bullets coming out of your gun, the smoke billowing out of the cannon barrel and the destroyed towns all look pretty sweet.
Interface: The print on the server selection screens, the scoreboards and in the game is very small, and sometimes impossible to read. Aside from the tiny text, finding a game is pretty easy. While playing, the weapon selector and the mini-map are tucked away in opposite corners, and don’t block your screen at all.
Gameplay: The controls take awhile to get used to, and change depending on whether you’re on foot, driving or in the air. After a few matches, you learn how to maneuver around everything, and playing becomes second nature (although I still can’t figure out how to dodge incoming missiles). No two matches are ever the same, and games against evenly matched opponents are a blast.
Multiplayer: Multiplayer is the entire game. The maps and the game types are all fun, and Capture the Flag alone can provide hours of entertainment. There are some problems, though. There are users who exploit glitches and make themselves unkillable while they rake up points. There are also users who can somehow “teleport” to your flag at the start of the match to score a quick point. I’ve also noticed rampant team-killing when it comes to Capture the Flag, because of players who want to build their stats, despite the fact that the stats aren’t always recording. These annoying problems aside, the game is still great.
Sound FX: The sound of tanks rumbling, the “wssssshew” of a missile flying through the air and the rat-a-tat-tat of machine gun fire are incredible in Warhawk. The sound effects provide almost all of the audio in the game, and they’re all very well done.
Overall: Warhawk is a great multiplayer experience, aside from its flaws. I would’ve scored the game higher, but Insomniac hasn’t released anything since September, and although they’re aware of the stat glitch, the join game glitch and the tank glitch, they’ve done nothing about it. The glitches hurt the game, and the player base is getting fed up with Insomniac’s lack of progress.

Patch is suppose to be due very soon.
The back story is offered in the Warhawk game that came out for the original Playstation, it was not a very good story and thus, instead of being inconsistent and taking flak on continuity issues, it was left out.
By the way, if the text is so small on your screen maybe you should invest in a 52 inch wide screen 1080p tv… Just a thought
By the way, didn’t see that post above about the patch that is due very soon, well in case nobody else has seen it, here is the change log:
5 New layouts.
Clan game server option.
Buddy slot reservations.
Integrated Warhawk Store.
Updated CTF capture/return behavior.
Internal stat padder protection.
Booster Pack status display at join game list.
DualShock3 integration.
Separate SIXAXIS motion control on/off per mode (ground, hover, flight).
Detailed Player Score display at end of game fixed.
Added new server type filters (player, ranked, dedicated, clan, Official Warhawk, etc).
Added new server full/open filter.
Fall damage exploit fixed.
Dismount into walls exploit fixed.
Invisible Tank, Turret & Warhawk exploit fixed.
Auto-kick of idle players.
Add to Favorites button added to end game screen.
Increased VOIP volume when not using headset.
(As seen on us.playstation.com forums official thread)
I’m not sure if it is patch 1.1 or 1.2 but the server limit is supposed to get bumped from 32 to 64 player. I saw it on Joystiq
chip: do you have a link for that. I haven’t heard that yet, I believe it could be possible as I have yet to experience any major lag issues… but are you sure they weren’t talking about the limit of players in a clan, not in a game? I know they will be raising the clan limit from 32 players to 64 players, just not sure when, maybe with the 1.2 patch
The interface is also terrible for switching weapons. The on-screen indicators are supposed to represent the shape of the ‘d-pad’ buttons, but come off looking like arrows, arrows that point exactly opposite from the direction you are supposed to push.
